dr. Julio Rivas
Board of Directors
Julio was born in Torreon, Mexico. His grandfather started one of the first preaching schools in Mexico, and his father worked in radio and TV clips for the church.
Julio has met many missionaries and people that have been involved in short term missions over the years. He's been part of both sides of the work (participant and local organizer). When living in Mexico, Julio was part of a team that organized trips to rural southern Mexico, with the purpose of teaching business skills to people in impoverished communities.
He's a business professor at Lipscomb University, with a PhD in Finance and Economics. Even though he has very technical skills, Julio thinks it is important to use some of these skills when serving. He's been involved with the missions committee in his church, and has participated in visits with several missionaries in different countries.
